The primary goal of diabetic wound care is to prevent amputation. Limb salvage is the primary concern of all medical personnel, and the greatest concern of our patients.
Fortunately, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is also a great financial savings for all types of diabetic wounding. With our specialized chambers, not only can we affordably reduce amputation in the diabetic population by 75%, as shown by the Journal of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses vol. 22, 2002, but also by doing so if treated early enough.
Insurers are able to avoid the cost of amputation, rehabilitation, prosthesis, and other ongoing costs related to the increased morbidity and mortality associated with an amputated extremity; not to mention the pain, immobility, inconveniencies, and depression that accompany lower limb loss.
